Vocational qualifications teach the knowledge and skills required for a specific area of work. They typically involve practical learning in simulated or real working environments. Examples of vocational qualifications include apprenticeships, certificates and diplomas that train skilled workers, craftsmen, technicians and higher technicians.
Professional qualifications also train people for specific roles, but involve more theoretical and/or academic elements. They are typically issued by bodies with a link to a specific profession, such as Chartered Institutes and Global Associations.
This service is not intended for academic qualifications, or those awarded by higher education institutions, such as Bachelor, Master’s and Doctoral degrees.
